The view from the hill a few years down the road.
Kronomyth 5.11: Hill or hi water.
Yet another chapter in the convoluted story that is Peter Gabriel’s discography. Different regions were treated to different singles from the Peter Gabriel Plays Live set. In North America, Geffen released an edited version of “Solsbury Hill” with “I Go Swimming” as the B side. In Europe, Charisma flipped it, making “I Go Swimming” the A side. In the UK, Charisma released a different single altogether, “I Don’t Remember,” with “Solsbury Hill” again as the B side. A lot of work for a little single that didn’t make much of a dent anywhere it went.
This view of the Hill is pretty close to the original, with Tony Levin’s bass now more pronounced. In fact, most of the performances from Peter Gabriel Plays Live were as good as (or better than) the studio versions.
