The Elvis Brothers: “Hidden in a Heartbeat” (1983)
Just the sort of song to hide in your heart for a rainy day.
Kronomyth 1.1: The Elvis Brothers have entered the building.
The Elvis Brothers were a power pop band who never got the recognition they deserved. Their first single, Hidden in a Heartbeat, is a cute and catchy number that sounds like The Knack or The Romantics or any number of “new wave” bands from the early 80s. It’s not timeless stuff but certainly good for its time. The B side is a rockabilly number, Full Speed Straight Ahead, that will delight fans of Nick Lowe or Dave Edmunds. Both songs are from their first album, Movin’ Up. Somebody really needs to post that album on YouTube. The world has far too much junk in it not to preserve jewels like The Elvis Brothers.
