Eddie Jobson Discography
A knight errant to prog royalty during the Seventies.
An elfin wunderkind who magically appeared in some of the 70s leading progressive rock bands—Curved Air, Roxy Music, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, King Crimson—before starting his own progressive rock band, U.K. Formed with Bill Bruford and John Wetton, U.K. released two brilliant albums of progressive rock before disbanding. After that, Eddie Jobson retreated into the world of synthesizers, releasing The Green Album with a new band dubbed Zinc, followed by an instrumental album, Theme of Secrets. And that, Jobson more or less disappeared from the rock scene before resurfacing in the 21st century with a new band, UKZ, and releasing one album. As both a violin and keyboard player, Jobson was a natural choice to replace similar artists such as Darryl Way and Jean-Luc Ponty, but it was in U.K. that he really came into his own. It’s a shame he hasn’t released more music, but as a free agent and founder of U.K. he has left an indelible mark on progressive rock.
