Ric Ocasek Discography
The last of the great glam rockers and a new wave pioneer, Ocasek was the driving force behind The Cars.
The last of the great glam rockers and a new wave pioneer, Ocasek was the driving force behind The Cars.
This was the band’s “Lucky Number,” even if that number was only #147 on the US charts.
Robotic synth-rock that lacks the contagious energy of The Cars, Ocasek is still cool on Beatitude but a little cold to the touch.
The opening single from Ocasek’s first solo album failed to crack the Top 40, and back in The Cars he went.
Ric was apparently a one-hit wonder, and this was the hit. I know, I know, tell it to Devo.
A more polished followup to Beatitude, featuring most of The Cars and a bonafide hit in “Emotion In Motion.”
Maybe the rock idol had been idle too long, but Fireball Zone felt more like a safety zone.
This is the ready-made rocker from Fireball Zone (insert zany music video here).
A compromise of the album that Ocasek wanted to make and the album that the label (Reprise) wanted him to make.
Ric’s hard-to-find “original” fourth album. To play it’s the thing.
Flannel is out, bowling shirts are in, in this cross between Teenage Fanclub and nerdvana.
